Eabhal came together while based on the Isle of South Uist in the Scottish Outer Hebrides. Playing traditional music, the band draws inspiration from many different cultures. Eabhal were recently named Hands up for Trad, Battle of the Folk Bands 2018 winners at Edinburgh Tradfest. Having toured throughout Europe, the band are now working on their debut album which is set for release in 2018.
‘Full of energy and bold ideas but firmly grounded in the Scottish & Gaelic tradition, Eabhal are one of Scotland’s brightest up and coming bands that continue to evolve our music.’ – Angus Lyon (Blazin’ Fiddles)
_____
The voice of THQ Nordic’s ‘Black Mirror’ and with soundtrack and on-screen appearances in Netflix’s ‘Outlaw King’ (due to be released late 2018), it is unsurprising that Kim Carnie, with her ‘velvet-voiced authority’ (the Scotsman) has been marked as one to watch.
Her debut EP ‘In Her Company’, featuring some of the best names in the Scottish folk scene, has been widely praised, with national airplay including Mark Radcliffe’s Folk Show, and was Radio nan Gaidheal’s album of the week shortly after its release.
Kim will be joined on this occasion by John Lowrie and Megan Henderson.
